Welcome home to Osseo, Wisconsin.
Settled in 1857 by Norwegian pioneers, Osseo lies “At the crossroads of Western Wisconsin”. The “crossroads” intersections of I94 and US Highways 10 and 53 have made Osseo a thriving industrial center. Many small and large businesses are located in two industrial parks. New businesses and industries are invited to contact the City and the Osseo Area Economic Development Corporation for information on locating in the newer East Side Industrial Park.
While Osseo has excellent schools, medical facilities, and shopping, this crossroads also makes Osseo a great community for commuters to live. Travel to other areas for work or play is easy and convenient. Recreational activities abound in Osseo – trout fishing on the Beef River, hunting, golfing. Trempealeau County's bike and snowmobile trails run through the city. The “Rod and Gun Club”, founded in 1890 by Jack Crow, an Osseo pioneer, still has an active membership.
The Norwegian heritage and culture of the early Osseo settlers remains important to Osseo's residents today. The city is home to the original Norske Nook serving ethnic Norwegian foods. The art of rosemaling is often used as a decorative theme. The Trygvason Lodge of the Sons of Norway and churches in the area serve lutefisk and lefse dinners around holidays.
